E-waste, the largest growing form of waste in America, is any electronic device that is discarded by its user. This could range from a broken pair of headphones or an old phone charger to a TV or a microwave.
The U.S. Department of Education 2018 budget plan, released this spring, proposes to eliminate or reduce funding for more than 30 programs, including a few that are crucial resources for some Western students paying tuition. The proposed budget is still awaiting approval from Congress.
Recently appointed by Gov. Jay Inslee as Western’s student trustee, Trista Truemper, who is pursuing a Master of Business Administration, will serve on the Board of Trustees for the 2017-18 academic year.
