The sprinkled pink donut sticker in the window of JoJoe’s Doughnuts caught an artist's eye as she drove on Commercial Street in downtown Bellingham. It was shortly after the business opened its doors in December 2021 and third-year Western student, Emma Deubler, was on the hunt to have her ceramic creations on display inside of a local establishment.

Culture shock — on wheels!

Students, staff and friends of the Western Washington University Anthropology Department have been documenting their bike rides throughout May as part of the Bike Everywhere Challenge, a national event that occurs annually. Teams are placed in randomly selected pools of 10, within which winners are calculated based on the number of points collected by riders.

Western student leads anti-white supremacy theatre workshops

As the end of the school year approaches, students in the Honors College are working to complete their capstone projects.  Third-year Western Washington University student Aidyn Stevens has facilitated workshops for her Honors College and Theatre capstone project.  Stevens conducted a series of workshops with the intent to use theatre as a method to address how white supremacist culture in predominantly white institutions marginalizes students.
