In the Humanities Building in Bellingham, Wash., on Jan. 15, 2025, classroom 102, along with several other rooms in this building and nearby spaces around Red Square at Western Washington University, accommodated up to 50 students per class session. The desks were arranged back to back, leaving minimal aisle space and making it nearly impossible to navigate at the rear when the classroom reached full capacity during class hours. // Photo by Mishele Ross.
