Shooting for a strong season
By The Front and Zach Slagle | November 3Both of Western’s basketball teams are preparing for back-to-back trips to the NCAA Division II playoffs coming off of strong 2016-17 seasons. The men’s team is chasing its second consecutive Great Northwest Athletic Conference championship, while the women’s team is going for its 17th NCAA playoff appearance under head coach Carmen Dolfo.

By The Front | November 2By The Western Front Staff Second-half goals from junior forward Karlie White and sophomore forward Emily Bunnell gave the Western women's soccer team a comfortable 2-0 victory over Seattle Pacific University in the semifinal matchup of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference tournament. The win sends the Vikings into the championship game against Concordia University. They will be playing at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, with hopes of retaining their conference championship from last season.

A record-breaking team
By The Front | October 27By The Western Front Staff History has been made. Western's women soccer team defeated Northwest Nazarene 3-1 giving them a 39 game win streak, the longest in school history. The previous record dated back to 1982-84. The Viking will be hosting Concordia at 1 p.m. Oct. 28. A win will secure Western their sixth consecutive GNAC regular-season championship.
